Surge in Influenza Vaccination Demand in Singapore Following Celebrity Death

Singapore has seen a sharp rise in influenza vaccination appointments following the death of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, who succumbed to influenza-related pneumonia at age 48 while traveling in Japan. The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported that over 2,000 people booked flu vaccine appointments on February 4, compared to 3,000 total bookings in January via the Health Appointment System.

This trend mirrors similar spikes in Taiwan and Hong Kong, with Taiwan procuring an additional 100,000 doses due to high demand.
